The shapes of light between these two massive carriers moored at the Naval Station in Bremmerton WA. Really interested me and I wanted to try and capture the scale of these magnificent ships.

It was fun watching craftsmen working on a great old ship; the Carlisle II, still using tradition methods of caulking with oakum in the Port Townsend boat yard.

I fell in love with this railroad bridge complex… the bridges pivot on the large rockers when they open. Not an easy bridge to paint.

When I saw the Noxon dam in Idaho I knew I had to find a way to paint it. I loved the towers and gates. With this years' wet Spring I imagined how it would look when the spillways were in full use.
